this post is a direct reply to the one i left Mar. 7th, 2008|05:10 pm [Mar. 15th, 2009|05:20 pm]
Wow, there is something to be said about writing things down. When you put something out there-- a thought, a word, a plan... it kind of comes to life. Case in point, the post i made a little over a year ago on March 7th, 2008. It had the following list of items:

From March 7th, 2008
1. someone filled my motorcycle parking meter today. how nice is that?
2. i went to a psychic medium last Saturday, etc...
3. got another set of responsibilities at work this week: graphics & tops for Men... I'm paid really awesomely-- but when am i going to get the damn title change! ARHG!
4. contemplating finishing my right arm now that summer is approaching
5. getting a haircut on Saturday
6. going to LA again this April to see April & Jenelle! yay!
7. the in-laws are coming in May
8. my dad is FINALLY coming to visit SF for the first time either this May or June, with my sister-- YAY!
9. i really really really wish i had some $$$ to blow on one of the new Marc bags, but alas-- I DON'T. I'll just watch my managers both get them instead! I'll just live vicariously.
10. my mom just visited last week, and found out my family had a hardware store out here in SF in the 1940s

And in response, a number of these things have actually happened now-- as of March 15th, 2009
2. I sent my mom to the same psychic medium last week, and her reading was phenomenal! I learned so much about my grandfather and my mom's first husband. Crazy stuff.
3. I got that promotion in June after all. So with great responsibility comes great risk and reward. I am handsomely paid... but now it looks like our business will change into something else, totally unrecognizable to me and everyone currently there. Its scary. I don't know whats to come and what my job will be right now.
4. Almost done with my right sleeve. Justin has one last tattoo with a banner that reads "fiddlesticks"... we've both been too busy to get together. But hopefully soon.
5. I need a haircut now. But in interesting news, the haircut i got last month was the one that helped my friend Kristen Matlack get her cosmetology license here in California. I'm so proud of that girl!
6. No plans to go to LA yet this year. Travel budget at work got slashed like whoa. Ben and I have just been traveling closer to home more.
7. My mom was just here last week... Ben and I might go back to visit Michigan in May... and Ben's parents are coming out here in September.
9. I bought a Marc bag after all. And a Marc wallet. Two things I have wanted for years. I happened to get a awesome bonus, and a surprising tax return. We got a good number of new things. Which kind of set my heart a flutter because I NEVER buy anything super nice. I'm trying to accept it. We had a killer year as far exceeding financial goals for my brand. So I should be proud. Lots of hard work has paid off.
10. This time last year, Ben and I went and found my family's old hardware store location here in SF. This year, a week ago Ben, Mom and I went to Colma (necropolis of San Francisco) and then found the resting place of those same relatives. Pretty crazy to know that EVERY city I've lived in, my mother's family was there before me. Interesting, no?

hmm... what else is going on in my life? Here's a quick list:
1. I got a new dog: Ronnie!Ronnie and Aislinn again My sister Aislinn with Ronnie around Thanksgiving....
2. I lost a mess of weight last year, (close to 25-30lbs) but have since gained it back due to the unbelievable amount of stress I've felt in the last 3 months. I stopped running, I stopped doing a lot. I'm currently looking at a personal trainer to help motivate me. Maybe even a hypnotist to get me some serious motivation. You know? Any of you have experience with either?
3. I still love San Francisco. I can't believe I've worked at Levi's longer than I did at Target. I cannot believe I've lived i SF for almost 3 years come August. Crazy!
4. Ben and I have talked again about home buying. Our tax preparer nailed us, and called us out for not taking her advice 2 years in a row. Basically, in California-- in our tax bracket we need to either have a baby or buy a house so we can get enough tax deductions next year to not have to owe money. Dang. So, the prices are all right, right now... so might as well look. Agreed? The best home values are in the East Bay... but if we are to buy in the East Bay we had better live there first. So conversations on moving always seem to hold up the whole thing. Who knows. One day we'll figure it out.

So, now I wait to find out what will become of my brand and company. I'm pretty worried and i hate not having any control or insight to the situation. I know I've worked hard, and have made a good name for myself at Levis-- i can only hope there is room for me to stay if things change. I know the move in the brand is not personal. But there are definitely a handful of people that I work with that I am worried about. I am so fortunate to be young, without severe debt or home ownership that if things get crazy, I would be able to move fairly easily. Also, despite how hard times are getting: I cannot deny how fortunate and awesome my life is. Often I think I focus on the missing... not on the existing things in my life.

Wow, am i getting older or what?

Anyway... i hope this finds you all well.

1. someone filled my motorcycle parking meter today. how nice is that?
2. i went to a psychic medium last saturday and heard a whole world of info i never expected to. it was so much more fun than i expected-- talked to a whole bunch of relatives-- even Ben's super religious ones who in life hated anything metaphysical. :]
3. got another set of responsibilities at work this week: graphics & tops for Men. Its official, i create and monitor the Men's offering from my brand from head to toe.
I'll jus watch my managers both get them instead! I'll just live vicariously.
10. my mom just visited last week, and found out my family had a hardware store out here in SF in the 1940s

I loved "The Amount you forgot about Dre/ The Amount of Gibberish that you Speak" line graph so much that I printed it out. Yes, I'm a huge nerd.

hair [Jan. 2nd, 2008|03:21 pm]
Should I stay blonde, or go natural (light brown)? I haven't seen my natural hair color in a decade. Help?

little yellow vespa [Nov. 20th, 2007|01:33 pm]

Here she is, safe and sound at my house.

I've finally rode on Sunday and then this morning (Tuesday)... and its so easy to get and understand that I think I'm going to commute to work next monday. Hopefully I'll have my full-face helmet by then, instead of my 1/2 passenger helmet.

I'm so proud-- and in love.

just begging to jinx myself [Nov. 14th, 2007|02:41 pm]
on craigslist-- a lady is selling her YELLOW (!!!) 2007 LX150! And for almost 1/2 the cost of one new. I'm about to lose my damn mind I want it so bad. I called my credit union and secured a personal loan to cover the full cost of the scooter, and once I get my license and the official title I'll transfer it over to a Motorcycle loan for a cheaper rate.

COM'N LADY-- CALL ME BACK! I'M DYING OVER HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

So close to getting my dream scooter, I can't even stand it!

UPDATE!
I got financing, and the $ is already in my account-- ready to squander. The girl called back, and I have an appointment to meet with her tomorrow to buy the bike if I like it! I AM SO FUCKING PUMPED!!!!!!!!

yay! [Nov. 13th, 2007|09:02 am]
I got my leather gloves and helmet. Sent in my check yesterday... i cannot wait for my motorcycle class!!

Now-- if only I could choose between the following scooters:

Vespa LX150 ($5,000 - $6,000)
Yellow LX150

Vepsa ET 4 ($3,000 used)
silver ET 4

Bajaj Chetak ($3,000)
Bajaj Chetak
I am determined to have a two seater. The Vespa's are automatics, while the Bajaj is like a vintage vespa-- with a manual transmission. Don't know if I'm ready to learn how to use a clutch and gears on the hills yet.

Thoughts?
